Ashinaga member of the board in charge of the Ashinaga Africa Initiative (AAI) Yukie Seki has recently returned from a visit to Sierra Leone, the UK, and Paris recruiting students and promoting the Kenjin-Tatsujin International Advisory Council. During the trip she met with former United Nations Under-Secretary-General, Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Sustainable Energy for All, and current member of Ashinaga’s Kenjin-Tatsujin International Advisory Council Dr. Kandeh K. Yumkella at his home in Sierra Leone on 15th November.
Dr. Yumkella spoke to Ashinaga about the issues that Sierra Leone is facing, and how we must support the education of young people to effect the change that is so desperately needed. He also spoke about the need for a mentorship program for young Africans and that he would be glad to offer his assistance.
Dr. Yumkella is a long-time supporter of Ashinaga and has provided significant support to the Ashinaga Africa Initiative (AAI).
He is now running for president of Sierra Leone and we are honored to have him as a member of the Kenjin-Tastujin Council.
