The selection process for the 2018 Francophone AAI has now come to an end!

The recruitment of candidates for the 2018 cohort of Francophone students for the Ashinaga Africa Initiative has finished!

One of the candidates from Burundi before the interview.

Different teams made up of Ashinaga staff members visited the most Francophone African countries in order to meet and interview the candidates shortlisted for the final stage of the selection process. This was a great opportunity to meet a diverse range of interesting applicants, all of whom were motivated to contribute to the development of their countries and to hear their inspiring stories.

In the end, 16 students from 16 francophone countries have been selected for our fully funded programme, and this year there is a new option available to our scholars. They will be able to join our anglophone track programme that will allow some of them to study in English in Japan or the United Kingdom. All selected students are scheduled to arrive in our office in Dakar at the end of October 2018. There, the will be joining Ashinaga Senegal’s Study Camp, our pre-university preparatory program. All attending students will be participating for 4 or 6 months depending on the language track chosen and develop their leadership as well as academic skills before enrolling in universities around the world.

We are looking forward to meeting all of the new students in the coming weeks!
