Biography


Professor Hiramatsu has held various posts in the past, including: member of the Science Council of Japan (the 20th – 21st periods),  president of the Japanese Association for International Accounting Studies, president of the Japan Accounting Association, vice president of the American Accounting Association, president of the International Association for Accounting Education and Research, member of the Business Accounting Council, member of the Certified Public Accountants and Auditing Oversight Board, international council member of the Korea Accounting Standards Board , chairman of the IFRS translation review committee, and 2016 Presidential Scholar of the American Accounting Association. He also served as the president of Kwansei Gakuin University (2002-2008).

Currently he holds various posts, such as professor emeritus of Kwansei Gakuin University, administrative trustee member of Kwansei Gakuin Educational Foundation, president of the Business Accounting Council, chairman of the BATIC Steering Committee of Tokyo Chamber of Commerce and Industry, chairman of the Business Accounting Test of Osaka Chamber of commerce and Industry.
